Dear Colleagues,

I am very pleased to announce that the 41st Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Toxicology (JSOT) will be held on July 2-4, 2014 at the Kobe Convention Center.

During this ongoing period of continual integration of new knowledge and technology into Toxicology, it has become clear that there is a growing need for greater scientific precision during investigations that could contribute to the protection of people from various chemical hazards. Throughout its past annual meetings, the JSOT is proud to have been a forum for meeting participants to convey their latest scientific achievements in the field of Toxicology. Continuing along this line, the main theme for the 41st Annual Meeting has been set as “Translation from Basic to Applied Research”.

My fellow organizers and I are preparing a variety of lectures, symposia, and workshops. Attendees will learn about new findings in Toxicology via platform and poster sessions, settings where they can closely interact with other scientists in intense-yet-friendly atmospheres. In addition, the Annual Meeting will be playing host to a huge exposition where attendees can be introduced to new technologies and products that might be useful in supporting their research.

The Kobe Convention Center, consisting of the Kobe International Conference Center and Kobe International Exhibition Hall (just a few minute walk from each other), is easily reached from Kansai International Airport (KIX). The city of Kobe, located near Osaka and Kyoto, has a long and unique history as a major port town introducing various foreign cultures to Japan and hence has a very rich international flavor.

My fellow organizers and I hope that you will attend the 41st JSOT Annual Meeting.

Sincerely,

Kazuichi Nakamura
President of the 41st JSOT Annual Meeting
